About Me

Mrs. Sherry Matthews is a Clinical Social Worker/therapist. Ms. Matthews received her undergraduate degree in Business Management from Fayetteville State University (Bronco Pride!).  Sherry Matthews worked with a local foster care agency for close to ten years helping to ensure safe environments for infants, children, and teens. Upon her discovering her passion to assist and help those that are disenfranchised, disadvantaged, and displaced due to lack of recourse and unsafe living conditions, she decided to pursue a Masters's in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Sherry Matthews understood that the work would be great and challenging after completing her Masters in Social Work. She later decided to open her private practice, Living At Peace, PLLC in Saint Pauls, NC. Ms. Matthews has served as a Feild Instructor for Fayetteville State University, Johnston C. Smith, East Carolina University, and Elizabeth City University to aid the students in the completion of their internship for class and graduation requirements. (Call to inquire about internship opportunities). She desires to continue empowering individuals, families, and communities for a successful outcome towards achieving their life's goals.

 

Mrs.  Sherry Matthews has the following licenses/certifications - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, Clinically Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist, and Clinically Certified Domestic Violence Counselor. Ms. Matthews published a parenting class workbook ( Ten Step Module Cognitive Behavioral Approach: Parenting Class Workbook) to help parents who have been mandated by the state department of Social Services and State Court Systems. The workbook is a must-read for parents who just want to enhance their parenting skills.
